Dave

Dave’s been dancing since high school. After starting with standard ballroom and Latin dances, Dave discovered swing dancing in South Africa in 2013. A founding member of Cape Town Swing (www.capetownswing.co.za), Dave has travelled all over Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe, participating in various international swing dancing festivals – including Mother City Hop in South Africa (www.mothercityhop.com), Lindy on Track in Poland (www.lindyontrack.pl) and the Mozambique Afro Swing Exchange in Mozambique (www.masx.org) – and visited social dancefloors from Paris to Singapore. He’s particularly passionate about community building through partner dancing events and the dance styles that grew out of swing, including rockabilly jive.

Grigori

Grigori

Grigori is a prominent figure in the swing dance community, celebrated for his vibrant performances and expert instruction in various styles within the swing dance genre. His primary expertise is in traditional swing dancing, where he not only teaches but also choreographs and performs, expertly bringing to life the spirited rhythms of swing music on the dance floor.

In addition to traditional swing, Grigoriy is skilled in boogie-woogie and collegiate shag, both of which are lively styles under the swing dance umbrella. Boogie-woogie is renowned for its playful and energetic bouncing rhythm, while collegiate shag is characterized by its fast-paced, energetic style, featuring hopping and kicking movements.

Grigoriy is also a talented Manouche violinist, a style of music that complements his dance performances by blending gypsy jazz melodies with the dynamic movements of swing dance. This synergy enhances his performances, offering audiences a rich and immersive experience of both music and dance.

Noémi

Noémi

Noémi started dancing swing in Budapest in 2015. Her teacher was the world champion tap dancer, László Bóbis, one of Hungary’s founders of the swing dancing scene. She gave a helping hand when they opened their dancing school in Budapest (https://savoygarden.hu/). She later had a chance to learn from different teachers in Budapest and Stuttgart while living there. Since 2016, Noémi has been attending solo jazz and Charleston lessons from time to time, but primarily she was practicing it together with dancers from all around the world during festivals and workshops held mainly in Hungary. She believes that swing is more than a dance. It’s a feeling of being alive!
